报告题目:Optically driven magnons at the center and edge of Brillouin zone

报告摘要:

Efficient spin wave generation, propagation, control, and detection are vital for magnonic components in conventional/neuromorphic computing. Nanoscale, terahertz spin waves pose magnonic challenges; solutions use femtomagnetic effects—ultrafast laser-tuned magnetic changes—with tight laser confinement We first discuss laser-driven magnetostatic waves (Brillouin-zone-center spin waves in ferromagnetic films), proposing tunable sources via domain wall textures or waveguide edges, validated by experiments/simulations. For hard-to-excite Brillouin-edge exchange waves, ultrafast exchange perturbations excite coupled two-magnon modes across the zone. We present methods for selective wavevector excitation of these modes.

报告人简介:

Alexandra Kalashnikova graduated from ITMO University in 2003, and got her Ph.D degree from Radboud University in 2009. She has been a researcher at the Loffe Institute since 2010. In 2018, she became the head of the Ferroics Physics Laboratory, which was established in 2013 under the Special Program of the Russian Government (MegaGrants). She has published 79 papers on ultrafast magnetism, magneto-optics and ultrafast phononics with more than 2800 citations (H-index 24).
